Scarlin discovered at a young age that she was passionate about doing hair. When she was a little girl living in the Dominican Republic, a family friend taught her how to braid hair and she loved it. Scarlin soon realized that she was helping others feel better just by doing their hair.

When Scarlin moved to NYC, she started pursuing a different career, but always felt attracted by the beauty industry, especially hairstyling. That’s when she enrolled in beauty school and after getting licensed, she landed at Art + Autonomy where she continues her love of hair, advanced education and all things hair related!

Scarlin specializes in all types of hair textures, specializing in naturally textured hair. Having curly hair herself, she is able to connect and understand her client’s needs.

Scarlin’s ultimate goal is to make people with natural curly hair feel beautiful and confident.
